Canadian Coast Guard Cutter Point Race provided Marine Search and Rescue to the Campbell River area from 1982 to 2011. During that time the station was involved in over 5,000 incidents, which in some years made it the busiest in Canada.
Many of the incidents were at night, or in bad weather, or everyone was too busy to take photos. But thanks to the efforts of the crew, and others, there is enough to provide you with a few bits of the cutter's history.
